Foods That Cause Constipation

  Everybody loves to eat and that is for sure. However, the food that we are eating can greatly affect of life. Once a person is not responsible enough in his/her diet, he or she might experience gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea and constipation.

 
  Constipation is a condition wherein an individual is having difficulty to detoxify his/her body from all the solid waste left by the food that we have eaten. It is a common gastrointestinal condition in which the movement of the food through the digestive system is much longer than normal.
 
  When Constipation occurs a person experiences, headache, stomach ache and may even feel bloated. A lot of factors are to be considered why a person experiences constipation.
 
 
  Lifestyle, medication and the food we consume are among the major consideration that we should consider. The most important thing in treating constipation is not only through relieving symptoms of constipation but also the diseases that causes constipation.
 
  Handling constipation may begin with lifestyle changes by increasing fiber intake. It has been said that prevention is better than cure, so the best way to treat constipation is through cutting the consumption of the foods that causes constipation.
 
Here is a list of food that causes constipation and the reason why we should try to avoid them:
 
  • White rice and rice noodles - White rice and rice noodles can cause constipation due to its binding abilities; this is especially concerning to babies or young toddler. In order to avoid the rice constipation, combination it with vegetables is important.
  • White bread - It contains both Opioid peptides that anesthetize your bowel. White bread is  processed and contains a little fiber, it should not be consumed when one is attempting to prevent constipation. white bread gained its constipating abilities due to the fiber removal which is part of the processing a white bread must go through.
  • Semolina pasta - Semolina pasta may look and taste delicious but this food can also be digestively a mess that can leave you wanting constipation relief. Its fiber and other good features have been pulled out by the refinement process and the only thing that is left starch.
  • Banana - Banana can cause constipation only to those with low energy or a predilection towards constipation. 1-2 pieces of banana a day can help you overcome constipation. but eating the whole bunch is another story and it can result to constipation.
  • White potatoes - When dining in a fast food chains, one of the top orders would be French fries which is primarily made up of white potato. However, anything made from white potato is ones again just starch and nothing useful. Instead, try sweet potato which is much better and can even make great fries.
  • Dairy products - Dairy products tend to be constipating. Some dairy products became constipating partly due to their lack of fiber because of the processing that they went through. Any dairy product that is high in fats and sugar can be problematic. But don’t worry you can still take yogurt which an exception.
  • Processed frozen food - Low fiber diet and insufficient fluid intake largely contribute to constipation or slow bowel movement. Refined white flour, white rice, sugar and all processed prepackaged frozen food have also lost their fiber and other good material during the production process.
  • Meat such as pork and beef - Protein is one of the most important nutrients that our body needs. Two of the best sources of such nutrients are pork and beef. Everyone is recommended to such consume the juice of the meat and don’t let the dry and tasteless residue enter your body because these are just waste materials.
  • Sugar products - Cakes, pastries and chocolates are food with too much fat and sugar products. This food will leave your body with starch and sugar which can cause constipation.
  • Caffeine - Caffeine tends to be dehydrating; the lack of water in the system is one factor contributing to constipation. Food and beverages containing caffeine can cause constipation and must be avoided.
